Welcome to Mount Gambier.

Mount Gambier is the regional centre of the Limestone Coast in the South East of South Australia and is one of the most captivating and progressive communities in the state.

A thriving City with a quality lifestlye enjoyed by its residents, set in a unique and ancient landscape of volcanic craters, lakes, limestone and underground aquifers.

Mount Gambier is known for its "Blue Lake", the only lake in the world to change colour so dramatically each year with the seasons. The carefully managed Blue Lake supplies the CIty and surrounds with clear fresh water and is just one of the lakes within the three craters of the volcano.

Mount Gambier is located mid way between Adelaide and Melbourne which makes it an ideal stopover for those travelling on route to and from Kangaroo Island, the Great Ocean Road or the Grampians, but is also a perfect destination for longer stays to enjoy the natural and cultural beauty of the surrounding region, the caves and sinkholes, coastline, rivers, lakes and wineries.

A wide range of accommodation is offered, with 19 motels, 7 Hotels, 6 Caravan Parks as well as Bed & Breakfast and self contained accommodation. The City has contemporary shopping facilities. Numerous pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants provide an array of fresh local food and wine.

The galleries and museums provide an interesting mix of art, history and culture whilst the City also boasts beautiful parks and gardens and outstanding sporting and recreational facilities making Mount Gambier perfectly positioned to host events and conferences.
